SMA Magnetics is a magnetic component manufacturer founded in 1981. Since 2011, SMA Magnetics Sp. z o.o. (SMAM) is a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology A.G. (SMA) and the key magnetic component supplier and competence centre in magnetics for the SMA Group, as well as for external business partners. SMA is operating in renewable energy industry reinforced by approximately 500 R&D staff. . SMA-M is always in quest for new fields for power electronics industry and magnetic component integration. The R&D team at SMA-M (headed by Dr. Marek S. Ryłko) is conducting research on magnetics phenomena in magnetic materials and windings, mechanical system integration, power electronics topologies, and new ways of magnetic component integration into the system. The participation of SMA complements the role of KU Leuven as magnetic components are expected to be drastically downsized combining the novel approach of controllable magnetics of KU Leuven with the long expertise of SMA in magnetics components.
