Chalmers

Chalmers (Chalmers University of Technology) was founded in 1829. Since then, it has been leading research in life sciences, materials science, information technology, micro-and nanotechnology, environmental sciences, and energy. Chalmers’ annual turnover is approximately EUR 410 million, of which 70% is related to research. Chalmers has an extensive track record of engaging in EU-funded research projects. In H2020, Chalmers participates in 152 projects, including 13 ERC grants, 30 MSCA grants (15 ITNs), and 26 projects in the Transport Challenge. The Division of Electric Power Engineering has a long tradition and strong competence in two research areas: Electrical Machines and Power Electronics and Power Grid and Components. Furthermore, there is a strong collaboration with relevant industries: Volvo Cars, Volvo Group, NEVS, Ericsson, and SKF.
